What to Expect
First Visit
Chiropractic care is different from medical care. At Chiropractic Sansui Clinic we address the whole body- the spine and extremities, nervous system, vascular system, tendon, ligaments, muscles and diet.
Brief Paperwork
Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. Also, if you have insurance and you would like for us to find out your benefit coverage we will gladly check on this visit.
Consultation
Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the Dr. Lee to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.
History and Examination
In order to determine what your actual problem is, the Dr. Lee will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, Dr. Lee will perform a Chiropractic, Neurological and Orthopedic exam. These specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.
X-ray Studies
Your specific condition may require us to obtain x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you as your dentist would. Dentists take a routine set of teeth x-rays even prior to teeth cleaning once a year. The films that will be obtained at our office will be always reviewed by a Board certified chiropractic Radiologist. The findings will be reviewed with you on a later date. The x-ray machine in our office is a “state of art” x-ray machine which reduces x-ray exposure significantly.
Same Day Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.
Home Instructions
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.
Schedule Your Next Appointment
You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time.
Cancellation
If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at-least 24 hours notice. We ask for this advance notice so that we can offer this appointment to another patient. A fee maybe charged if a patient does not show up for an appointment without sufficient notice.
